The Broad Center for the Biological Sciences at Caltech houses the labs and offices of the university’s division of biology and biological engineering, where undergraduate and graduate students pursue studies ranging from magnetic imaging to the biology of emotion. Following Eli Broad’s longstanding service as a Caltech trustee, The Broad Foundation’s lead gift of $18 million enabled the construction of the center, designed by architecture firm Pei Cobb Freed and Partners.
