Home to some of the world’s leading visual and performing arts institutions, Grand Avenue is the fitting location for a flagship arts high school to educate tomorrow’s artists. Adding to Grand Avenue’s corridor of iconic architecture, the High School for the Visual and Performing Arts was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Wolf Prix, the winner of an architectural competition supported by Eli Broad. A striking presence in the downtown landscape, the school serves students from the surrounding neighborhood and citywide who are aspiring to be the next generation of visual and performing artists.
